You will be afraid. There's no other option
I took my son rappelling this week.
He went first. I went second.
Watching him step to the edge was one of the scariest moments I've had as a father.
For him too.
Here's what the guide told us before we started:
"You will be afraid. There's no other option.
If you're NOT afraid when you step near the ledge, something is wrong with you.
We are wired to fear heights. It's supposed to feel like this.
It's purpose is to keep us alive."
The fear isn't the problem.
The question is: can you trust the ropes enough to lean back and take a small step?
As a business owner it's the same.
The tough decision you know you have to make. The conversation you've been avoiding for six months.
You will be afraid. That's not a bug. It's confirmation you're doing something real.
My son leaned back and went.
Then I did. In the picture it's me reminding myself to breathe, lean back, and step over the ledge.
One of the most powerful experiences we've shared.
What's the ledge you're standing on right now?
